The wind was predicted to die halfway through the day today and we have a long sail to get to Long Island so we woke up at the crack of dawn to get going!
The sail went really well! The wind held out for a little longer than anticipated and we had a very relaxing day just sitting in the cockpit reading. The last half of the sail was over the shallow sand by the Comer channel. Our boat is so shallow we didn’t really have to care about the depth but the bright sun over shallow sand made the water a bright blue as far as we could see.
We pulled into Thompson Bay at a reasonable hour in the afternoon. The wind finally died to practically nothing as predicted but we only had to motor a few miles to make it in.
We haven’t gotten groceries since Georgetown so we wandered up the street and went to the store to get milk, bread, eggs, and as many vegetables as weren’t beat to shit in transit. (Not many. Cabbages travel well)
Tomorrow the wind is going to be nonexistent so us and Sorn are going to rent a car and go exploring!
