Unfortunately, the new holding tank for the boat didn’t arrive at the boatyard on friday, so now we have to wait until monday for it.  That does give us a few more days to keep swapping out the old hoses for both the forward and aft heads before we have to deal with the tank also.  It’s way harder than it looks to pull the 1-1/2″ hoses through the bulkheads and the bilge.  It usually takes both of us pulling and pushing with all our strength to get it done.  Today we managed to swap out the pump out hose that runs from the tank to the deck so we can have the tank emptied at marinas.

It runs through the closet and up behind a hidden panel that we have removed temporarily
Here’s a shot of the new run under where the tank will go
After locating the new toilet, Jason cut a little extra out for the new hose to connect to the toilet.

Since we’re installing an electric toilet, it has a control panel that will be mounted on the cabinet and the entire assembly will need some wires ran.  I managed to find a pretty clean location for all of that… mostly only because I can fit my arm into the bilge more easily than Jason can.  While I was snooping around down there I found where the cold water supply tees for the sink and to the existing toilet supply.  I also found a dead ended water line all the way in the bow of the boat.  With a little digging we managed to find the other end coiled up and not used in a storage locker further aft.  I hate leaving unused stuff in place, so we went ahead and removed it.

No more water hose!
The wires are all in place to start the actual installation of the new toilet.

In order to know how long to cut each of the hoses by the tank, we went ahead and installed the new macerator pump on the bulkhead.  The old one looked pretty heavily corroded and I really don’t want to have to work on this system once it’s installed!  The purpose of this pump the contents of the holding tank directly overboard when we’re out in open water!

So fancy!

We got a lot done today, but not really a lot of photos to show for it.  We’re now ready to install the new toilet!
