The same winds that kept us from getting to Bora Bora the day before now pushed us easily to the island of Huahine. We found an anchorage in shallow water away from the other boats. The water was calm and clear with snorkeling and coral and fish a little further out towards the reef. After relaxing a little bit we all jumped into the water to play around and cool off. We got the paddleboards out and paddled them around, only falling off a few times. I don’t mind the paddleboards, but I’ll always be a kayaker! 😉
It’s only a short ride in the dinghy to the town. The town is super cute with its restaurants, handmade souvenir shops, and well-stocked supermarket. This would have been an easy and fun place to spend a few days (or a few weeks!). We made the mistake of moving on a little too quickly and spent only one night here. I had plans to go snorkeling again with my camera to get pictures of the fish on the shallow coral heads, but we decided to press onward to Bora Bora!
I literally only took ONE photo of Huahine!
So, officially, I want to go back as soon as reasonably achievable! 🙂
