Bora Bora is one of those places that you always hear about but never think you’ll actually be able to visit.  It’s only for celebrities and those bungalows over the water, right? Nope… not if you have your own boat! 🙂 We anchored out by the St. Regis hotel with a few other boats and had a lovely view of their crowded little bungalows on one side and the mountain of Bora Bora on the other.  So sorry to ruin their view with my little chartered catamaran. (fun fact: no remorse) Regardless, Bora Bora is touted as having the most beautiful lagoon in the world, and I believe it.  The mountain seems to rise directly out of the ring of clear blue water and soft sand.  It’s truly breathtaking.

Jason took this shot of the sunrise lighting up the spray from the waves hitting the reef

En route with the fishing rods up. We didn’t catch anything!

I finally got a shot of the blue clams in the coral!
Sunset in Bora Bora!

Rashell and I were in the water for a really long time today swimming around and taking pictures.  We were super hungry by the time dinner rolled around!  I took so many pictures today trying to get some over/under shots with the dome port. My poor little laptop is getting a workout this trip!

Bora Bora is amazing! However, other people know this as well, so the wake from the tiny ferry boats rocked our catamaran most of the night and the boats and jet skis limited how far we felt safe venturing from our boat.  This island definitely feels more touristy than the others that we’ve visited so far.
