This morning we woke up and set off on a low tide trudge of double breasted and Maycock cays. The islands are so close together that at low tide you can walk on the rocks between them and explore the shallow tide pools and mangroves. I also found a ton of conch on the protected side of the island. Lots were shells from ones that were eaten but there were also a ton of live conch as well. Reassuring to see for sure.

Cool branches
Little mangrove river
Small pool

Sand bars
Love this tree

Another shot of that really cool looking tree

Southern end of the island. Can’t walk to that one!
Deep pools in the shallows. We saw rays here once but they weren’t there this time.

2019 Chinese Covid test. That’s migrated a long way!
Interesting rocks
Found this crate on the beach that’s a perfect fit for the boat!
Boats at sunset!

Our friends on Liberty also showed up later in the day so us, them, and Sorn all went to the beach for a bonfire! That was super fun as always, because these folks are all super cool.  While we were chatting I noticed that the rocket launch that Jason mentioned days ago was happening! You never get tired of seeing them rocket through the sky with the big rooster tail of explosions.

Fantastic end to our time at Double Breasted! We are headed north again tomorrow while Liberty is headed south but hopefully we will meet up with them again eventually on our travels!
