Compass Cay is famous for their big marina that has “tame” nurse sharks that tourists pay money to swim with. The marina, however, isn’t the only thing on the island. We found a shallow bay on the northern end of the island to weasel Onward and Sorn up into to avoid the current and other people. It worked perfectly and may be one of my favorite spots on this trip! Because the bay was shallow soft sand we decided to just go all the way up and let the boat sit on the bottom at low tide.

Just walking around the boat. Lol
Walking over to Sorn!
This is silly!

We also found an unexpected hiking trail up to Compass Peak at 92’!

Marina is down that mangrove river
Onward and sorn and another catamaran that tried and failed to anchor up by us.
Onward

Jason and I went on a little hike (just walked over from the boat…as you do) in the shallow sand bars. I found a spot where a stingray was hidden in the sand and got some cool shots of the boats.

I’m totally in love with this boat now. The shallow draft is so much fun!
