For all of my Washington State friends, Eureka Springs is the Port Townsend of Arkansas. This adorable little art community is nestled in a valley between two mountains. Everyone I talked to out here told me that I would enjoy it, so when my parents came to visit we all headed out to check it out! Turns out everyone was right… we had a blast! I will admit I thought it would just be one small street and we would get a coffee and head home, but Eureka Springs has like 3 main streets snaking their way up the side of the mountain lined with shops and cafes. Mom and I made it a point to go into each one (and I got some of my Christmas shopping started!).
In the middle of town is a little park with a trail leading up the side of the hill. This trails goes to a spring!
We had a fantastic morning wandering around exploring but eventually we had all seen enough and decided to head back to the house. On the way, however, we stopped by the Thorncrown chapel. Old churches usually aren’t my jam, but this one was designed by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright and is very striking with all of the glass and wood beams.
Our last stop was at “inspiration point” which is a little pull off of the main road with a view of the valley below. It was lovely, but I didn’t have my camera with me to get an actual *good* shot of it.
