Poor Jason has tried about every kayak possible at this point in his quest to find one that he can sit in for more than 5 minutes. No luck so far and his legs pretty much fall asleep instantly. However one thing that he forgot existed are canoes! They have a super upright seating position so he should be able to easily sit in one! After months of grueling internet research he settled on a few boats he really liked and found one at a little shop up in Pennsylvania. He ordered it over the phone and they agreed to hold it for us until we got the boat moved far enough north that we could rent a car and drive up to get it! With gas prices as high as they are, Hertz happened to have a nice new Nissan Pathfinder with a roof rack just laying around. We snagged that and drove a few hours north to finally take delivery of Jason’s extra fancy (of course it is…) new canoe!

For those interested it’s a Northstar Northwind Solo in their ultra durable IXP layup.

It does fit on the side of the boat, but barely. Lol.
