As usual, I can’t leave well enough alone and have it in my mind to fully detail and wax the entire boat. She’s a catamaran and there’s SO MUCH surface area… but now that I’ve started I have to finish. I’ve been slowly working my way down the main deck one small section at a time and she’s really starting to get there!

I use a bristle brush and foam pads on my dual action buffet with 3m heavy cutting compound, Collinite fiberglass cleaner polish, and collinite fleet wax.  It should last as long as wax can last and she’s really starting to shine! I started up forward and did the front section of the deck first.

The nonskid actually shines now!

After finishing the forward section, I moved back to the area underneath the cockpit enclosure. The fiberglass had some rust stains in a few places so I got some Magica rust remover gel that dissolved that in seconds! I found the recommendation for this stuff online and holy crap it works well!

Now that the surface is prepped and not rusty I could get to waxing!

So shiny!

Since the boat was hauled out at the boatyard I took the opportunity to put on another coat of wax on the hull sides.  Before we launched originally we paid a company to just do the sides and it was expensive! (I now know why…) I did it by hand because I’m a glutton for punishment but she really shines now!

Can definitely see where I’ve waxed and where I haven’t!

So pretty!

I still have a lot of work to do but she’s looking really good! My goal is to do all the hard work up front and then every now and then I can start from the top and work my way down with some more wax to keep everything shiny and protected from the brutal sunshine down here in Florida!
