We’re still here in Stuart on our mooring ball.  We had a bunch of stuff, including some important boat parts, shipped to Caroline’s house.  Stuart isn’t a big deal for her to drive to hang out with us one last time before we head south.  As usual, we really don’t have a plan for what we want to do… so we ended up having lunch downtown and then riding around in the dinghy so I could collect more coconuts to make into coconut cream!  We even tried fishing off the side of the boat! (unsuccessfully!)

friends!
The boat life!
We ended up with 6 coconuts I enthusiastically grabbed from the river!
Gonna let this green one ripen up a bit more
That’s a LOT of coconut, but my hands are really smooth now!
Another beautiful sunset!

There’s a train bridge next to the highway bridge and we hear the trains go by pretty much all night long unfortunately.  I do love trains though, so when we were walking through the tunnel underneath the train to get back to the marina and the bridge went down, we stood and waited for the train to go by! It was exactly as exciting as I imagined and the conductor even honked at me! 🙂

It was literally right on top of us!
So excite!

The cats are still in love with lounging around the boat all day.

Duster has claimed the guitar case
Dart lays on top of anything and everything.

Buuuutttttttt, because it’s a boat, we still have a bunch of work to do on it! (mostly stuff we’ve been procrastinating on… but ohwell)

Installed the antenna for the satellite phone
Finally finished bolting on the safety rails to the boat!
Removed the shower from the aft head.

So yeah, the hoses and shower head in the aft head leaked when the water was turned on.  Until now I’ve just kept the water turned off at the manifold, but the transom shower is fed from those lines as well and I really want to be able to use it!  My solution? Just rip out the shower entirely and be done with it.  I find it very unlikely that we’ll shower back there since there’s a very nice shower up forward and if it’s too rough to use that one, we’re not showering anyway! So… problem solved. There’s still a lot left to do on the boat, but that’s to be expected.  Installing the life rails were one of the bigger items for sure. We also installed a metal plate over a hole that until today was plugged with a wood plug and screws wrapped in painters tape.  Now the back of the boat doesn’t have any holes in it!

Jason and I have our coconut processing pretty nailed down now.  We did 5 coconuts and got 2 full mason jars full of coconut cream (that we use for curry and rice!) and over a pound of coconut flour that we gifted to Caroline! I think I have more fun hunting coconuts than I do fishing! 😉
