Our Alaskan cruise ended on a Friday afternoon in Vancouver. Were we supposed to just head home? No! Why would we do that…? Home is only a few hour drive away, so Jason and I decided to hop on a ferry/bus and spend the rest of our weekend (including Monday because we have that day off as well) in Victoria, Canada. Jason called this a “dessert vacation” because it was like a little treat at the end of a regular vacation. The name stuck. 😉
We’ve been to Victoria before but were never able to really spend a lot of time there and explore. It’s a neat city. We were there on the weekend so the waterfront was full of street performers and the streets were full of hot rods. Overall it was a very exciting place to wander around and people watch. 😉
We were wandering around trying to decide on someplace to eat lunch. Noodles sounded pretty tasty and as we made our way towards Chinatown we kept hearing drums and firecrackers. Turns out there was some sort of festival going on with, obviously, drums and firecrackers, but also people in a giant dragon costume prancing around. So much fun to watch! I didn’t get a good photo of the dragon because of all the people. It was neat to see it though!
