So this week I find myself in Singapore for a day as a layover for the next location in my work tour around the world. Fun fact about Singapore: it’s way further away then I thought! 😮 I can fly to Japan and not even bat an eyelash anymore. 10 hours there, 8 hours back, blah blah, easy! To get to Singapore it was my “normal” flight into Tokyo-Narita, a modest 3 hour layover, and then another 7 hour flight. Coupled with the fact that we also have to schlep around a bunch of work-related crap, and keep a group of 6 people together, it wasn’t as relaxing a trip as usual. However, my first impression of Singapore is: it is HOT! Like Florida in the middle of summer hot… and the humidity… I’m so glad I cut my hair off otherwise I would have a fro right now. Second impression: this place is super clean. Not a piece of litter or mark of graffiti anywhere! Seeing as graffiti is my favorite thing to look for, that was almost a disappointment. However, the interesting modern architecture makes up for it. Singapore is chock full of unique buildings and I enjoyed the challenge of hunting for unique things to shoot.
We spent a little bit of time getting settled in and dealing with our massive amounts of jet lag, but we did actually manage to get out of the hotel and do a little exploring! Stay tuned!
