The cruise ship is pretty neat (nonstop dessert and coffee!) but I want to get off and explore! We pulled into Juneau just after sunrise. The fishing boats were still on their way out for the day and there was a low fog bank hanging around the water and winding its way up through the mountains. It amazes me how close the mountains are to the sea out here. It’s like taking Hurricane Ridge and moving it right over to the water.
I have a comment about the picture above. Yeah, it was a cop out to use one of the vintage looking filters, but the dust and smudges on the picture itself were real. All that shit that was on the sensor of my camera and the back element of my zoom lens. Yeah, pretty darn terrible. My first order of business for today was to find a camera shop and see what they could do to fix it. I’m pretty particular about swapping my lenses over and take good care of my gear, but I suppose she’s been carried to enough places around the world to deserve a sensor cleaning now and again. 😉
We watched the sun slowly set and the seaplanes fly around for an hour or so until it was time for our delicious dinner. We walked over 25,000 steps today (yay Fitbit!) so we were *exhausted*. Needless to say, we slept awesome! 😉
