In my last post I showed how we built our nice new patio and fire pit area. (Yay!) But… it looked kind of sad without any plants. While we had a little fence installed on the side of the house we also had the fence guy put in 5 poles around the fire pit.

I realized that It’s actually really easy to dig a trench that’s border-stone sized with my rock hammer so I went around the perimeter of my new flower bed and made pretty quick work of installing the border.

I had a little circle shaped flower bed around my japanese maple and now that looks dumb next to the new flower bed, so I morphed that into one gigantic flower bed.

….aaaaaand since it’s so large I need a walkway through it.  I just happened to be bad enough at math to end up with the perfect amount of leftover paving stones to make a little walkway!

Used some leftover SB2 parking gravel around the stones.

Now it’s time for mulch!

That’s looking exactly like I had envisioned! I ordered some solar patio lights to hang from the poles for ambiance and Jason chopped up some wood for the fire pit!  The bed looks awesome, but also it needs way more plants… so I spent some quality time at Lowe’s!

It’s really starting to look awesome out there! I can’t wait until next year when my plants get a little larger and really start to fill up the blank space!
