On our way south we took the dinghy from Shroud Cay down to the southern tip of Hawksbill Cay to check out a potential anchoring spot. It looked amazing but there wasn’t time to explore it when we were there. (Needed to go hide from a wind storm probably…) However now that we’re slowly working our way north we decided to give it a go, but make Sorn go first because they’re just a little shallower than Onward!
This whole area is a series of shallow sand bars in between small islands. Absolutely stunning place to visit!
The main reason we tried this anchorage was that it has 360 degree protection from wind and a wind storm was predicted to come through. It was predicted to be fairly weak but the predictions were wrong as usual and the squall was 40 knots with driving rain. It was a sporty and exciting morning!
