Beaver lake (all 26,000 acres of it!) is only about an hour away from our new house!  Jason found us a nice place to put the kayak and canoe in at and we hit the road.  It was a busy holiday weekend so there were a few ski boats tooling around, but they can only go so far into the little coves so overall it was a pretty relaxing paddle! My favorite part was this long cove lined by tall rocky bluffs.  There are still trees sticking up through the water that made for an interesting paddle despite having to navigate around the stumps and limbs.  Part of the cove ends at a huge boulder overlook that is part of a hiking trail at Hobbs State Park.
