I’ve mentioned before that Shroud Cay is my favorite place on earth! The sand is soft and perfect and the water is bath tub clear and winds through the mangrove rivers in ribbons of teal and blue. It’s truly a magical place! So I’m the luckiest girl in the world to be able to spend Christmas AND my birthday there! All I wanted was to go kayak in that perfect water, so Jason and I and our friends Erin and Kara all met up in our kayaks and headed out for a morning of fun. In stark contrast to the last time we were at the beach at the end of the river and it was packed with mega yacht tents and jet skis, this time it was completely deserted. We had the entire beach to ourselves and it was glorious! We hung around in the water until we all got cold enough to want to leave and then had a picnic lunch under a rock overhang overlooking the ocean.

We had Erin and Kara over for a birthday party. Kara brought lobster Mac and cheese and Jason made homemade pizza! He also made me a rum cake for dessert that was fantastic! This was the best birthday I’ve had in a long time! Nothing like kayaking my favorite spot and spending time with friends! 🙂
