Earlier this summer we attended Billetproof – “the world’s least important car show”. It was a blast and my favorite part is how every car there is unique in some way instead of your typical pastel cookie-cutter street rod or restored Mustang. I try to go to this show every year, but I hadn’t ever made it to the Billetproof Drags. Wish I wouldn’t have waited so long! It’s one thing to admire the cars while they’re all parked in neat rows, but it’s another thing entirely to watch those same cars haul ass down the 1/8 mile drag strip at Riverdale Raceway. (yes, the same Riverdale we ride the dirt bikes at… isn’t that convenient?) There was everything from semi trucks and flathead powered roadsters to a front engine dragster with twin Chevy smallblocks… As I stood there by the starting line barely able to hold my camera because my hands were shaking and my right foot wouldn’t sit still, I realized that I really have to get my truck going and get back into drag racing. I really miss it. Might have just gotten the motivation I needed to get going on my project again! So without any more unnecessary words, here are the photos:
I think I saw “Pa Pa’s Outlaw Moonshine” up at the Clearwater casino at Bainbridge Island in Spring 2013.
Do you know what the red handle sticking out of the red taillight is for in the “Push Off” photo?
There was a car show at the Clearwater Casino last year! Sponsored by the Rock-it Roost in Bremerton. The red handle is a battery cutoff switch!
