There’s always something to do on a boat, especially since we have 4 people on board trying to get their shit organized and usable.

Last week while at the dock in Stuart we went through the entire boat and purged a bunch of stuff we brought that we thought we would need but realistically won’t. A lot of it was tools… which pains me to get rid of but we had two palm sanders on a boat that doesn’t have any wood to sand.  We also had 3 sizes of torque wrenches which we will only use for motor work so we kept the middle size, etc. in total we removed about 4 dock carts full of crap from the boat. It cleared up a lot of space to better organize the stuff we decided to keep and made the boat a lot less cluttered looking! I didn’t really get any pictures of this, but it made a huge difference!

Another thing that was mildly inconvenient was the lack of counter space in the galley. A big chunk of it is taken up by the gas stovetop that we rarely use because we have a single burner induction cooktop that we just plug in. Jason’s dad made him a beautiful stove cover for our last boat that we were sad to have to leave when we sold it. But since we sold it to a friend and he didn’t really care about it, we stole it back! Eventually we will need to cut a few inches off the back but for now I went ahead and mounted it to the backsplash with a piano hinge and some 3m VHB tape. It looks fantastic on there! (also note the custom matching cutting board…also made by Jason’s dad)

So classy!
Hinges up so we can still use the stove

Aside from a few little projects I’m hoping that we’re done working on the boat for a while and can just enjoy her!
