After a fantastic 2 month long road trip around the country Jason and I are finally back in Florida and back to working on our boat to get her ready to finally splash into the water and head south!

While we were in Missouri visiting Jason’s dad, we got to pick up the stove cover that he made for the boat in his wood shop! It’s gorgeous and really makes the galley look fancy!

it matches our cutting boards!
Just need to screw the hinge on and we’re done!

I’ve been working on doing a lot of small, easy projects that need to be done but weren’t important enough to make the big to-do list.  One of which was making a door for the electrical cabinet.  We have 2 cats, so all the electronics spaces need to be lockable!  I put a section of screen in the middle for ventilation and problem solved!

Cat proof!

One of my little splurge purchases on Amazon was a nice magnetic knife holder for all of Jason’s fancy knives!

Looks pretty good right there!

One of the major projects that we were working on before we left was a bunch of repairs for the prop and shaft.  After pulling the shaft out of the boat we realized that it was too worn and corroded so we bought a new one along with a new dripless shaft seal and new split coupling to connect it to the transmission. (the old coupling was press fit and took us 2 days to remove) Jason also ordered us a fancy new feathering propeller a while ago for less drag while sailing. All of that stuff is finally all installed and the last giant gaping hole in the hull is now filled!

I got tired of fighting with the fishing poles in the corner of the guest room and finally figured out how to hang them on the wall.  It’s not ideal, so I may end up redoing it later, but it’ll work for now!

Not a lot of room there for long stuff

We also installed the teak handrails that we bought for our custom fiberglass hardtop.  It looks super extra fancy now!
