I spent most of yesterday sitting around my engine nook trying to get it finished.  The wiring for the fuel pump is now complete, as is the installation of the new LED overhead lights in the engine compartment and their associated wiring.  I think that there used to be a large round light above the engine, but it was removed.  It’s super dark in there and if I’m working on my engine at some point, I would really like to be able to see it!

These should light it up like the sun!

While I was in there I realized that most of the insulation was loose and saggy so I started trying to fasten parts of it down with large fender washers that for some reason we have an entire box of!

That’s not going anywhere!

Since I can’t leave well enough alone, I moved the coolant overflow reservoir.  There used to be a few other panels and whatnot on the door to the engine compartment, but they’re removed now.  The reservoir was mounted really low and wasn’t the high point in the system like it should be.  Now that I have a longer hose, I moved the whole thing up like 6″. Problem solved!

Now it’s completely above the engine

At one point I went out to help Jason do something on the mast that’s laying outside on the pier.  Rain was in the forecast but we JUST BARELY missed it.  That looked like a sporting thunderstorm!

We only got a few droplets of rain from the wind gusts
