While trying to chase the wires from the gauge board to the engine, I got a little frustrated and cut all of the zip ties.  This made it infinitely easier to figure out the wiring for all of the instruments and relays, but left a large dangling mess in the lazarette.   Today I got to brave the heat and put it all back together.

Before: dangling and sad
After: tied to the overhead like it should be
Before: wires wires everywhere
After: many zip ties died in the making of this organizational feat!

I even added some attachment points up on the bulkhead so I can move the entire wiring bundle off of the surface to keep water and gunk from collecting under it.  Might be a bit anal, but it makes me happy.

Ta da!

One other little thing I did today was remove the two vents from the transom.  We’re going to have the transom painted and that will be easier with less stuff in the way.  Also, these are similar to the one for the sewage tank vent that disintegrated in our hands when we tried to remove it.  They’re cheap, so I’m just going to replace them and not have to worry about it!

A little worse for wear I suppose

No progress on the refrigeration issues that we found the other day.  We’re still figuring out what we want to do about the insulation and how much, if any, additional insulation we want to add back in.  We do need to make a new divider piece to separate the fridge and freezer sections.  The piece that the previous owners made won’t work with the additional insulation ripped out.

The weather is starting to get unbearably hot here.  It was 83 inside the boat with the AC running before we took a break for lunch.  😮
