After catching the sunrise at Stanley Park, we all piled into our cars and drove over to the VanDusen Botanical Garden for a few more hours of photographic shenanigans. (and little nuggets of wisdom from Bryan…he’s got quite a few!)  The garden itself is gorgeous and most of the flowers were still in full bloom.  Most of them were covered in honeybees doing their thing, so everyone was swarming (seewhatididthere?) around the flowers with macro lenses hoping to be quick enough to get a shot of a bee!

I let a guy borrow my lens, so I put his zoom with extension tubes on my camera. I thought this looked like an impressionist painting.

I got a ton of photos that I’m really proud of at this location. I don’t think I’ve ever just been left unattended in a huge garden and told to shoot until I’m bored. It was amazing. There were so many colors and I had a blast trying new techniques to really play with color, composure, and lighting!
