Despite my injuries and aversion to humidity I did manage to commit to probably the shortest official hike I’ve ever done: Manoa Falls. It was a whopping 1.5 miles… round trip. However the waterfall was pretty darn spectacular. I distinctly remember asking Jessica if Hawaii was a rainforest.. because it just kind of looked like a rainforest… and at that moment the clouds opened up and it started pouring rain. Like not the cute little showers we occasionally get in Washington State, but a full on torrential downpour. I huddled underneath my backpack in the hopes that it would clear up. That didn’t look like it was going to work, so we stowed the cameras safely inside and kept walking. I don’t mind being wet or getting rained on but when it starts dripping down my face into my eyes I get a little annoyed. We were definitely getting some coffee after this hike…
This was actually a really great little hike. Easily accessible and quick enough to do after work. I will definitely be trying this one again next time I make it down here!
…and for the record we DID end up getting coffee! There is a place called Glazer’s Coffee and I had probably the best hazelnut latte of my life. Highly recommend! This is where I’m supposed to insert the instagram-friendly shot of my delicious latte foam art, but I was cold and tired and way to under-caffeinated to be artsy enough to think of it. 😉
