We spent our last official night in Diego Garcia (our flight leaves tomorrow at 4 in the morning!)  hanging out on the beach for the sunset.  There is a trail at the end of the Navy lodge out to Cannon Point.  I expected it to be longer, but it was really quite short.  (everything seems longer because it’s so hot here?) We should have found it sooner! It starts with actual cannons used to defend the island and ends with perfect white sandy beaches littered with shells and hermit crabs.  Pretty much the perfect end to a very interesting trip!
