After exploring the Knarraros Lighthouse at sunrise, we continued our drive along the coast to the West instead of East towards Vik where we had already been. This led us through the town of Thorlakshofn and to a random pull over on the side of the road because we wanted to see the beach. “Beach” term used loosely here because it’s more of a collection of rocks that you have to scramble over (note: they are icy and cold and wet and slippery) in order to access even more rocks that the water just happens to breaking on. Not really pleasant for swimming or sunbathing. However we were out there for an hour or two with the tripod out taking long exposure shots of the ocean waves breaking on the rocks. Technically, Jason had the tripod, filter, and remote shutter necessary for this… I had my camera perched precariously on a rock. whatever works!
