After making my coffee this morning I made the mistake of sniffing the milk. Yeah, it’s totally bad. Meh… Gross.  So our first stop of the day was to find a store somewhere so I could get some milk. Because if I don’t have coffee in the morning I’m not really very nice… (sorry Jason). Our plan was to run up to Ganges, which is apparently a fairly large place,  but then our little guidebook told us that Montague Harbor had a little store. Problem solved. Turns out the place is really nice. They have an extremely well stocked store with groceries, local goods, and produce.  They also have a cafe with fresh cooked all local food, pastries and treats, and my favorite… LATTES! We weren’t in the mood to stop for the night, but the next time we’re up this way we just might spend the night here. It was neat!

We finally got to roll the sail out on the way from Montague to tonight’s anchor drop destination of Selby Cove on Prevost Island.  It was blowing 15-20 knots.  So finally enough wind to move our “exceedingly stable” boat up to an acceptable speed and for once it was consistently from the same direction AND it was a direction we wanted to go! Either way, we had ole Blue-J leaned over pretty good and knocked damn near everything off the shelves. We made it into Selby Cove and got the anchor set.  I had really wanted to go ashore and look for rocks at low tide, but I’m not sure our dinghy would power up enough to fight the wind and make it to shore… So I finished staining the starboard side rails and peeled the tape up. They look AMAZING!!!! but now it’s gusting wind and raining… so I won’t get to work on the port side anytime soon and I might not get to go look for rocks either. Guess I get to write blog posts on my laptop while I sit under my sleeping bag to keep warm and dream about owning a boat large enough to have its own espresso machine… 😉
