Since we spent yesterday cleaning up the beach trail we decided to explore the view trail today. Jason had the machete and knocked down some of the branches while I went hunting for air plants small enough to make crafts with. Somehow this island is the only place in the Bahamas that I’ve seen air plants growing but some of them are impressively gigantic!

This is a sporty trail
Air plant

You can hike to a view of the anchorage or down to the lake
We didn’t go all the way to the lake because of gross looking mud but it’s through the trees there
A little marsh outside the main lake. All this was dry last time we were here.

After our hike we took the dinghy to one of the shallow sand bars and walked across the island to the ocean side. It turned out to be an amazing spot! I scoured the beach for treasures and sea glass and found a TON of sea glass! We also found a weird little blue beacon thing that we eventually figured out is to mark the location of large floating arrays to attract schools of small fish that then attract tuna for commercial fishing.

Pretty sure it’s dead but it’s a neat thing. Kind of want to drag it back to the boat and tear it apart
Todays haul! Let the crafting begin!!
