Of all the things we had to upgrade and fix on this boat, the electronics and navigation stuff wasn’t originally on the list. It was one of those systems that “functioned” but maybe didn’t really “work.” In the end, though, we caved and upgraded everything so we would be sure to have an autopilot that tracked straight and charts that were more accurate. We went simple this time with no fancy radar and a single small screen.

We cut another hole in the boat and replaced the depth sensor
The compass is mounted all the way forward by the water tank
This black panel used to have a screen in it but we couldn’t install a new one without ripping out the entire ceiling of the boat so we will do without for now
We had to make a new wood panel for the left side of the nav station. Can’t match the original wood finish so I put some cute fabric on there instead!
It works!
Done!
