There’s only so much you can do to make Interstate 40 a fun and interesting drive, but we did our best! We didn’t stop, but we saw the “leaning tower of texas” in Groom.
I also really wanted to stop at Cadillac Ranch where all the cars are buried on their ends to look like a redneck stonehenge. I also apparently didn’t realize that it was such a popular tourist attraction because when we stopped, there were cars lining both sides of the road and we would have had to trudge through a muddy field to get to the cars, so…. we didn’t stop.
We drove the rest of the day and then spent the night in the parking lot of Russells truck center in Glenrio, NM. This place was surprisingly awesome! Not only is it extremely well stocked with fantastic parking for the camper, but there’s an entire classic car museum on the inside!
We ran into some rain on our way home, but make it back to Arkansas safe and sound!
