Pete’s Lake campground isn’t really near anything in particular, but the town of Munising is a 20 minute drive north back up to the shore of Lake Superior. It’s another one of those small, quaint waterfront towns that seem to only exist in summer except for a handful of hearty locals. I found a surprising amount of outdoor art and local art galleries to peruse.
Exploring town definitely doesn’t take all day, so we drove west a little bit to see the old blast furnace originally used for smelting iron. I found a nice piece of slag, but no more interesting rocks because the water was pretty rough. Nice piece of history though!
