In my last post we bought an adorable little house in Arkansas (yay!)! However… we really do have to wait a month to close on it, so we reluctantly vacated our airbnb and drove back up to Missouri to temporarily move into Jason’s Mom’s basement.  What will we do to stay busy?

I went up to Autozone and got a car detailing kit and spent a few hours cleaning up the truck from driving across the country. I used ceramic coating for the first time and am very impressed!

We went mountain biking with Dwayne.

Those tailgate pads sure are handy!
Duster anxiously awaits dinner
He really liked this little red footstool. I may have to get him one eventually.

We did a few little local hikes through the woods.  The streams here are all very clean and beautiful.

We went out to Jason’s Dad’s place and helped them with some driveway maintenance using the tractor.  I did some landscaping cleanup and then got bored of that and decided to paint Mary’s old wicker hanging chair.  It lives outside and needed some attention.  I tied it back together but I still wouldn’t sit in it, unfortunately.

Before
After. Bright white with a new seat made out of paracord I found in the basement.

I also helped organize and rearrange the basement.  We hung some lights up also to turn it into a cool coffee-drinking lady lounge.

Pretty cozy!

Later we went with Jason’s mom to St. Genevieve and walked around the old part of town for an afternoon.

I bought my first piece of art for the house!
The oldest settlement west of the mississippi.
Old theater neon sign. love it!
I found a rock that looks like a piece of fried chicken.
