As predicted, we headed back to Petoskey State Park to look for rocks again because who knows how long it’ll be until we’re back this far north!

Storm coming in

My horde of rocks

After we got sick of looking for rocks again (a few hours max for me…) we took highway 119 north.  Called the tunnel of trees scenic drive, 119 wraps around the coastline from Harbor Springs up to Wilderness State Park where we were originally going to camp.  Most of the area is private property but there are a series of small nature preserves scattered around.  We stopped at a few to check out the coast and explore.

Big sand dunes!

This is what a woodpecker nest looks like, in case you were wondering.
