I’m not sure I was really prepared for the grand scale of this air show.  There were 677,000 people and over 3300 airplanes.  Some were personal planes that people brought in, others were military or show planes.  The grounds of the airport were covered in airplanes, vendor booths, campers, and people.  They had different events, shows, and seminars throughout the day.  Jason and I went to a few seminars just to see what they were about and we walked all of the vendor booths a few times just to make sure we saw everything.  I really enjoyed the vintage warbird area even though I wish I had brought a few of my pin-up girl model friends with me!

I like the shiny ones

The cheese curds here are awesome

Part of the vendor area was kind of a flea market and fair setup, and I found a booth with a bunch of old random crap at it.  Ended up buying myself a little clunker bicycle just because I wanted it.  (more on that later…)

My new piece of crap. Isn’t it rad?

By far the coolest parts of the air show were the group flyovers by all of the warplanes.  I can’t imagine hearing them swarm at you on an actual battlefield.  They’re loud and terrifying and awesome.

That’s a lot of planes!

Oshkosh also had the best fireworks display I’ve ever seen.  They had a few stunt planes flying at night with lights and then some of them had fireworks that they would shoot out of the wings and at the end they just set off an insane amount of fireworks. (and bombs? I think there may have been a bomb) It was insane!
