The art museum at Crystal Bridges in Bentonville is an amazing place with a huge amount of free art both inside and outside in their expansive gardens.  One of the larger rotating installations was called the listening forest.  The artist grew up above a night club and uses interactive lights and sounds to create art! (I can’t imagine how many computers are needed to control all of it!).  Jason and I went twice; once with my parents, and once with his.

The buckyball
It changes colors all night long
Sunset colors at the new parking garage
Artsy shot of a crane through fence screening
Blue waves that you walk through in a circle
The screen morphs all the people in line with each other
Moody snack shop
The text moves as you walk
You can wave and kick and the words move around

That’s a big deer
Heartbeat forest
The lights pulse with everyone’s heart beat
I got a starburst filter for my camera. neat!
It’s pretty striking!
This huge screen uses thermal imaging that throws “sparks” as you move around.

Big ball of Dale Chihuly blown glass

Glass ball surrounded by reservable tents
laser beam that connects to another one when two people touch it at the same time
Artsy shot of a random stranger
Another Chihuly
Giant robots with lights that you can control with your arms and legs

huge sculpture with canoes.
