So after weeks of dark, rainy, and cold Washington weather I end up in San Diego where the sun is shining and it’s 70 degrees outside. What’s the first thing I do? Go to the beach? Nope… the San Diego Automotive Museum, of course! (Boy am I predictable…) Usually I whine about all the cookie cutter restored cars at car shows… I mean, how many times can you see a cherry red Camaro or chevelle with black racing stripes? This place was different. It’s totally worthy of calling itself a museum. The cars in here are super rare and in perfect condition. Each one has a story to tell. Very cool! Also on exhibit this time was a bunch of Steve McQueen’s bikes and old riding gear. That was neat to see. Motocross gear has definitely improved over the years. 😉
So this last picture brings us to Louie Matter’s Fabulous Car. Which is really better read about on the internet than having me try to describe it to you. I bet it took a ton of work to build!
Either way, visiting the museum makes me really want to find a car show to go to while I’m down here! I bet there are neat cars!
