It wouldn’t be the Pacific Northwest unless it rained at least once on your vacation.  The weather didn’t disappoint.  We chose to spend our token rainy day wandering around the Royal BC Museum.  The exhibit this time around was about the wooly mammoth.  They even had the baby mammoth that was found a few years ago on display.  After watching the informational video explaining how she died and how she was found and what the scientists are learning I assumed the little mammoth would be hidden away in a lab somewhere for safekeeping, but no, she’s right there under glass in the museum.  She was about the size of a large golden retriever.  (ironically enough, I didn’t get a photo of it. Fail.. I know.)

After we finished learning about the mammoths, climate change, and the history of British Columbia, we moved on to learn about the native people.  There is an entire room dedicated to totem poles.
