Jason’s mom came down from Missouri to visit us for a few days for the holidays. We spent part of that time driving down to Devils Den State Park to do some hiking! We did two trails: the yellow rock overlook trail and the actual devils den trail. The rock formations in this area are really cool. The overlook wasn’t very impressive in the middle of winter with the dead trees, but it was a pretty hike nonetheless. This was our first time doing the devils den trail and it was way more interesting than we thought! The trail snakes up on top of a ridge where it looks like a giant rock was just sheared in half. There are tons of cervices, caves, and boulders to explore and even a really nice waterfall. The way back to the parking lot is along the river that was pretty high given the recent rain and show and crystal clear!
