While I was out kayaking yesterday at Black Point I saw another kayaker approaching. We went for a little paddle and I came away from the experience with a new friend named Lisa! We made plans for the following day to go for another paddle up to the turtle creek just around the corner from the anchorage. It was actually way closer than it looked on the charts and a really pretty paddle over some shallow coral heads that ended in a lagoon. We didn’t actually see any turtles but there were a few stingrays. This was a neat spot because the end of the lagoon is protected from the ocean inlet by large rocks, but has a fantastic view of the waves breaking as they enter. There’s also a hike that can be started from here that goes up on top of the cliffs! Maybe next time.
