When we bought our boat it was equipped with a hydraulically controlled pivoting seat for the nav station.  Like most everything else, it didn’t work, so I ripped it out.  That area actually needs a place to sit (theoretically to look at charts and maps…), so Jason and I decided to install another 12v powered fridge like we have in our truck in that area.  We can use it as an extra freezer (hopefully full of tuna!) and then slide it out and sit on it to use the table!

I bought a nice locking slider from an offroad company and bolted it through the floor, nice and easy.  Amazingly enough, the other side was completely accessible; a rarity in a boat.  I already had a 12v socket installed for the fridge back when I was doing all the wiring because for once in my life I planned ahead!

Looks like it was made to go there
The hatch is fully accessible with the slide open!

We (Jason, to be more specific…) finally got around to dragging the big heavy cooler up the stairs and onto the boat.  I cut some old foam into spacers to go underneath (the cooler is just slightly too wide for the bracket) and tied it down! Pretty straightforward install! It’s currently full of like 5 cases of soda!

The cat was the first to test sit
Fits in there nice and neat!

So there it is! I really don’t think we’re ever going to actually sit on it since we have a huge table inside the boat, but having extra storage for food is a huge bonus!
