The paint on the bottom of most boats that stay in the water is made to fall off as critters try to stick to it so you don’t drag around seaweed and shells all the time.  This works awesome until all of the paint is gone and, as you can guess, this is something that eventually is going to happen if the boat is in the water long enough.  Our boat definitely needed fresh paint!  Stripping and painting the bottom of a boat is a dirty, awful job so I was more than glad to pass some money to Holland Marine to have them do it for us!

The hull fully sanded. Turns out she was red underneath!

still sanding…
I don’t know why there were SO MANY colors
kind of pretty actually…

We chose a pretty basic blue for the new paint.  I didn’t really care too much about the color since it’s under the water anyway, but I ended up loving the blue because, with the boot stripe, it matches our color scheme on the hardtop and canvas!

Blue
half done

That’s one more thing checked off of the list before we can actually put her in the water! 🙂
