We keep trying to finish the sewage system replacement and keep running into stupid little problems.  A few days ago we went to replace the tank vent tubing and the vent itself broke in half in our hands.  (this is the piece that goes out the hull!) So that project was tabled until we got the replacement piece.  While we were waiting for that, Jason ordered the new macerator pump switch and got it installed in a piece of trim wood above the closet.

There wasn’t an obvious way to turn it on before…
It’ll be nice and out of the way

Finally the new vent arrived and we got it installed and the new hose ran to it with the nice holding tank filter in the middle. The filter will keep it from smelling!

Our new stainless tank vent!
ta da!

Because the shelves were in the way and annoying me, I removed them.  There’s a better way to do it anyway!

Goodbye shelves!
Now we can hang clothes in here!

But.. it was going too smoothly… we removed the valve that went through the hull for the shower sump discharge because it was loose and we needed to tighten the fitting.  However once we got it off we realized that the hole was drilled at an oval and nothing we did was going to get that fitting to be tight.  Time to order yet more parts and put this area on hold AGAIN.  Starting to get a little frustrating!

Another unintentional hole in the boat. How does this keep happening?!

Usually only one person can fit in a space to work at a time and since Jason was doing the plumbing, I went back aft and continued tearing apart my lovely Yanmar diesel…

More parts are missing…
The back is getting there at least!
Removed the starter!
That is a rusted in place fuse block that we didn’t even know existed. The nuts fell apart in my hands. Awesome.

Overall the engine still needs a lot of work. It’s filthy and it looks like there’s been a coolant leak for long enough to cause rust damage.  I’m still working on figuring out what the previous owner did to the wiring harness (who cuts a factory harness?!!!) and what else is broken.  Someday soon she might be ready for paint though!
