It’s finally time! After reinstalling the handrails outside, we didn’t need to access the backing plate and hardware anymore so we could actually put our galley back together!  We had to fight with the cabinets a little bit, realign some wiring, and beat the crap out of the inner fiberglass panel, but eventually it slid into place.  The second cabinet was a bit of a pain because I really didn’t want to scratch the nice paint job I did… but… I get to touch up the paint anyway!

I really like how the galley looks now. There was too much wood before and I think the white upper cabinets make the space look a lot bigger.  I think I’ve decided that there’s a fine line with wood that looks expensive vs wood that looks super dated.  Unfortunately, I think the white cabinets make the rest of the varnished wood look cheap and dated like an 80’s house. I’m even more motivated to get around to painting the rest of the galley cabinets!

The wallpaper on there peeled off, so I put this fancy marble stuff on there.
Jason beating the shit out of one of the cabinets
The black doors don’t look bad actually! Still need to paint the drawers.
Pretty!

Still have a lot of work to do in the galley.  I’ve decided to paint the countertop fiddles and trim pieces white to match the cabinets.  I also don’t have any actual kitchen stuff in there, so maybe I’ll bring some of my mugs over!

The cabinets didn’t take that long to install, so we kept the momentum up and installed the rest of the kitchen sink faucets.  Yes, there’s more than one! We have: dish soap, sea water (for washing dirty dishes!), main faucet with hot and cold water, and pure water for drinking.

It was harder than it looks to find a small scale version of that faucet with the hose!

I bought some more tubing to finish installing the UV water purification system and filters!  All that’s left is the big faucet!

done!
It needed an isolation valve because reasons

The water system is allllmost functional! I’m really happy with the color I picked for the cabinets. They’re white, but they work well with the cream color of the inside of the boat.  Now that they’re installed, I can start building my coffee nook to replace the chunk of cabinet that we destroyed removing the cabinets initially! (More to come on that later!)
