I’m a lazy photographer.  At least I realize that about myself.  I *should* be planning trips to epic locations for some amazing landscapes or taking the easy ferry to Seattle to shoot some street, but I don’t.  I do, however, want to practice instead of just whining about it.  So where’s somewhere close and easy? Gig Harbor.  We go there pretty regularly, so I figured it would be a challenge to find something interesting to shoot that I don’t already have.  I used my vintage Minolta film lens just for shits because why not make a challenging thing even more difficult with manual focus?

The fisherman statue by the marina
Shot through some bushes. They had thorns. I didn’t realize that until I had my arm all the way in.
Wide open into the sun. This is a technique I suppose
This is unexpectedly my favorite shot. No distinct subject and a random sun flare. Made for instagram.
More of this fence because it was rusty and I like it.

Also, it’s *almost* cherry blossom time here in Washington.  I’m sure there are different varieties of cherry trees because the one in my front yard doesn’t even have leaves yet, but the ones along the waterfront in Gig Harbor were almost in full bloom! Score!
