Well you all knew we couldn’t buy a new truck and not do something to it pretty much immediately! Since we’ve had some bad luck with getting holes in our tires, the first thing we wanted (arguably, needed) to do was to replace the stock tires on the 4runner.  They’re barely offroad rated and weren’t going to hold to up Jason’s “spirited” driving style. However, if we’re gonna swap tires, we might as well get new wheels! The Chevy Colorado we had before was silver with gold wheels, so we went with the same color scheme on the 4Runner!

I’m still going to miss this truck!

So here’s the 4Runner with her shiny new set of wheels and tires!

We also decided to upgrade the suspension because, again, Jason always keeps finding the limits to the stock stuff.  We’re building this truck for offroad exploration and that involves a LOT of unmaintaned roads that are way more comfortable with high performance suspension!

Now you also notice that the Colorado above has a sweet custom camper in the back. (another thing I’ll miss…) We can’t do the same thing in an SUV so we bought another roof top tent like we had a while ago. They’re comfortable, durable, and don’t take up any space in the cab.  In order to install it though, we needed to also install a new higher capacity roof rack.

Glad it wasn’t raining so we could put this together!

That’s looking way cooler!

Our plan is to do some epic road trips in this thing and get to some really remote places. I can’t wait!
