We woke up bright and early and headed out towards the straight of Juan de Fuca to begin our voyage home.  The tides were with us, but unfortunately the wind was not.  This created some impressively steep waves that had Blue-J rolling pretty good!  We had water over the bow of the boat. Pretty exciting! I took a few photos, but not during the biggest waves because I was holding on with both hands! (that water is COLD!)

We also saw a submarine and its coast guard escort across the straits by Port Townsend. I thought it was a building for a while and was wondering why it kept moving…and then I figured it out. LOL. We also briefly considered just stopping in Kingston at the marina there and having dinner at the Oak Table Cafe, but we’re so close to home at that point that we might as well just sleep in our own beds and take a shower that doesn’t involve quarters, cold water, and the threat of foot fungus.  So that’s what we did! …and I had the best shower of my life and used alllll the hot water!

THE END!

Just kidding… but it’s the end for now.  We all made it back home to Port Townsend safe and sound and only marginally sunburned (note: Blue-J is the only one without a sunburn).  Had “whatever is left in the cooler” surprise for lunch and dinner.  I’m very very sick of sandwiches and spaghetti.  I spent a few hours cleaning the interior of the boat and the areas under the sinks just because I’m not very good at sitting still.  Either way, it was a great trip! I can’t wait to start planning our next adventure!
