I wandered around looking at the old Victorian homes in Heritage Park just long enough to snap some photos and finish my venti latte. After a quick glance at google maps on my phone, Presidio Park stood out as a large green region of possible interest. So why not meander on over that way? I’m easy to please. There are a few little hiking trails up the hill to get to the Junipero Serro Museum, which is the statuesque building on top of the hill that’s visible pretty soon after starting the hike. It looks like some old mission, but was originally built in 1928 as a museum in the Spanish revival style and isn’t nearly as old as it appears. The hill itself is known as the site where California began. It was neat to stand there and think about what the surrounding landscape might have looked like a few hundred years ago.
