I admit to doing literally no research on Cat Island before heading this way so when we followed our friends to Fernandez Bay I had no idea what was there. We were surprised by a huge network of mangrove rivers! We even learned about a secluded blue hole from some other cruisers so that became our goal for the day. At high tide we set out with two other dinghies and scoured all the little rivers until we finally found the hole super far into the island almost by the shore! However “blue hole” is a bit of a misnomer. It was more of a black hole that was just clear enough for you to be able to tell it was a cave that went down deep but not clear enough that any of us wanted to get in to explore further!

There it is!
