As usual, we had another west wind coming our way. We couldn’t stay at Prime Cay for this one so we headed south with Vela to Georgetown. Instead of anchoring at one of the main popular anchorages we headed another hour or so south to Red Shanks. To get into the protected anchorage you have to snake around a series of islands, over a sand bar, and into a bay. It’s a great place to ride out a storm with clocking winds and we were all pretty comfortable! We made sure to get there nice and early before it filled up with other boats.

Another Antares 44

The wind hadn’t filled in yet so I got to do some kayaking in the sheltered bays.  Today I did a tour of all of the little caves at low tide along the high cliff faces of the island.
