Now that we are fully provisioned (ok we really just needed milk and bread this time) we left Georgetown and decided to try somewhere new! At the north end of Great Exuma are a bunch of small keys with cuts in them that you can snake through and end up on the great bahama bank. They looked interesting on the charts so we cut through there and ended up at an island on the other side called rocky point. This isn’t a place that most people go unless they’re positioning to sail somewhere else so we didn’t see another boat all day. The water here isn’t as clear and is actually very silty, which made the color and unreal shade of teal but also meant that we w weren’t going to go swimming. We did take the dinghy to land and walked the coast a bit. The rocks were extremely sharp and the hiking wasn’t going to be fun so we decided to head back. We did see a huge stingray playing in the mud though.
We had planned to explore the area a bit more but Dart wasn’t feeling well so we went back to Georgetown the next morning and anchored at Goat Cay, which is a short walk to the vets office.
